Mangrove Conservation & Rehabilitation program is part of FORA’s commitment to create long term impact for community & environment. Working together with the Local Forestry Department, we aim to protect the mangrove forests by developing it into a source of living for the local community through derivative product development in the mangrove area. In return, the local community will need to protect the mangrove forests the work in.
Currently we are collaborating with the Provincial Forestry Department of Bangka Tengah to conserve and rehabilitate approximately 25,000 hectares of protected Mangrove forests on Bangka island. Through our program, mangrove will be a big interaction point between community and environment.
We also collaborate with like-minded private institutions and companies to plant mangrove trees for their CSR programs.
